Chief Michael Paige
Chief Michael Paige began his fire service career as a paid-on-call/part time firefighter with the Forest View Fire Department in 1981. During his time with Forest View he became an Illinois Certified Emergency Medical Technician and Basic/Certified Firefighter II. While still at Forest View, he became a member of the Summit Fire Department and continued his fire service and emergency medical service training to go on to become an Illinois Certified Emergency Medical Technician-Intermediate and then a Certified Paramedic. Chief Paige went on to work for Metro Paramedic Services where he was assigned to the Bensenville Fire contract and then to the Brookfield Fire Department contract where he became contract manager. Chief Paige has also worked as the Fire Marshal for the Village of Bensenville and, while there, was responsible for initiating the Bensenville Police Department to Fire Training during the brief time that Bensenville was transitioning to a Public Safety format.
Chief Paige began his service to the Stone Park Fire Department as a Firefighter/Paramedic in March, 2003. During his time here he has been the Fire Department’s Training and Safety Officer and, after being promoted to Lieutenant, was assigned to the Fire Prevention Bureau. He was appointed Chief on December 13, 2007.
Chief Paige is still an active Incident Safety Officer, Fire Investigator, Hazardous Materials Technician, and Public Safety Educator. He is currently enrolled as a student in the Chief Officer Program administered by the Illinois Fire Chiefs Association.
Professional memberships include: MABAS Division 20 Chiefs, MABAS Division 20 Fire Investigation Unit, MABAS Division 20 Hazardous Materials Team, International Association of Fire Chiefs, Illinois Fire Chiefs Association, Metropolitan Fire Chiefs Association and Illinois MABAS.
